Walk and Talk Therapy

I’ve always noticed how a quiet walk can help clear my mind and settle my thoughts. Walk and Talk Therapy brings together the benefits of counselling with the gentle support of being outdoors and moving at your own pace.

For some people, the idea of sitting face to face in a counselling room can feel a little uncomfortable. Walk and Talk Therapy offers a calmer, more natural alternative. As we walk side by side, the conversation can flow in a relaxed and unhurried way — without pressure or expectation.

Finding calm through movement and nature

Being in nature can have a soothing effect on both the body and mind. The gentle rhythm of walking and the fresh air around us can help you feel more grounded, present, and at ease. Movement also releases endorphins — the body’s natural mood boosters — which can gently lift your spirits and ease feelings of anxiety or low mood.

Sometimes, when emotions feel overwhelming, sitting still can make it harder to express what’s going on inside. Walking can help you feel more comfortable, making it easier to talk about difficult thoughts or experiences. It also helps regulate your breathing and supports emotional balance, creating space for calm and clarity.

A gentler way to connect

Many clients tell me they feel less self-conscious when we’re walking together. There’s something about being outdoors — surrounded by trees, light, and open space — that helps people feel more at ease. You don’t need to look directly at me, and we can simply walk and talk at a pace that feels right for you.

Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you and find ways to support your wellbeing. You’ll be encouraged to notice your surroundings, reconnect with your body, and take gentle steps towards emotional steadiness.

Walking beside you

If you feel more comfortable outdoors, we can meet in a local park or quiet walking path. Every session is guided by what you need in that moment — there’s no rush and no pressure. My role is to walk beside you, offering understanding, care, and guidance as you find your footing and begin to feel more like yourself again.
